EM Radiology books

Hey all, quick question. Does anyone recommend anything in particular as a radiology resource for EM physicians/med students. As I currently rotate through EM, I've noticed that two ways to impress is your ability to read EKG's and radiology films. EKG's are taken care of with Dubin and Garcia, but what about rads? I have some basics down, (especially with PA CXRs), but not much experience with lat CXR, limbs, fractures, etc. I've seen people reading "Radiology Made Ridiculously Simple." Any words on that? Thanks for your help guys.

An alternative, written for EPs and with better clinical correlation is Schwartz:

I have to say both books are 6-7 years old. It's time for something new.

so any new recommendations from anyone? I go to www.netanatomy.com quite frequently to buff up on my normal ct/xray reading but am looking for a book because I love books!

yikes!! why are books so freaking expensive?!! It's like the Man is trying to keep me down and uneducated with these pricing structures. Books are like a luxury good. those look like good books but sheeeeezle, they're so expensive. anyone have a used one they wanna unload for a lot less, or...maybe....some sort of, how shall I say...barterrrrr....

I have "Emergency Radiology" by Schwartz... It's okay. It is very comprehensive in text, but the pictures aren't the best at times... and there often aren't enough labels to point out what you should be looking at (plus I like having normal x-rays next to abnormal x-rays for comparison, which the book does not have). Maybe I am just too picky. Anyway... I give it a 6/10 overall (4/10 pictures, and 8/10 text descriptions).

Radiology texts are usually quite expensive compared with other medical texts because of the large number of high quality images. Possibly should be cheaper now because of digital publishing.

Check Amazon for used or older editions.... You can usually get it for 20-30% cheaper.
