I'm currently a resident in a surgical subspecialty and interested in changing to EM. Do any EM residency programs have pre-residency fellowship positions? I know that these sort of positions are common in surgery. Also, anyone know of opportunities for EM research? Would like to get some EM experience over the next year in anticipation of applying next ERAS cycle. Thanks.

Some programs do, but they're hard to find. Most have transitioned to post-residency fellowships in research now.
