I'm at UT Houston and there are 3 of us going to El Paso. I ranked my home school #1, and man they did me wrong...

All good in the hood, though.

I put el paso lower on my list cause the wife didnt like it as much, but i rotated there and loved it. Great group of people and I actually liked the location.

Yeah, I agree. I do like it. The others from my class put it first. My wife not so- she will have to tranfer into her ms3 - ms4 years at El Paso. So, its more of an issue about who passed on me than anything...

Did 4 of you from UT-H match at Tech? If so, that means 50% of the new PGY1s will be from UTH. Amazing--never thought there would be school hegemony like this (unless of course, it's where one graduated from). Come to think of it, I think the most Tech had its own in the EM program was 3 yrs ago when 3 grads matched. I would be happy at UTH or Tech. Again congrats.

Thanks. Yeah, there will be three from UTH. It is funny how trends occur over the years. Sometimes classes match all guys or mostly girls or a lot from one school. I think UTH matched 4 from UTMB.

Yep. Plus 4 at UTSW. None at the other Texas schools (all the rest were out of state). Things do seem to have trends, huh?

I was fortunate enough to match at my number 1 choice:

Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine

University of Illinois at Chicago.

I ranked 6 EM/IM programs in my 1-6 slots and then 11 straight EM programs in 7-17 (mostly 4 year programs).

I've been in the ICU for a while and haven't posted. I just wanted to thank Q and everyone else who gave me advice. I decided to leave Las Vegas and go "where the weather suits my clothes".

So it's Mt. Sinai, Miami Beach for me.

When I rotated there it just felt right for me. I have 9 days left of rotations and I can't wait to get back down there. 😀
