Just a confirmation from Duke that they got my app. I think it's way early for interviews. I think most programs wait for the MSPE.

Same here.. Does any one know if they reject your app, will they notify you or will they just not send anything?

Other than pre-match offers from UCSF and MSK, I haven't heard a word 😎

You'll probably get a couple of confirmation emails. As you mentioned, Duke does, and a couple of more (UCLA or Kaiser perhaps?). The first interview offer I got was well into October so just sit tight, and start planning your dates for the Prelim year interviews. Try to get your intern yr IV's out of the way soon to leave enough flexibility for your Rad Onc ones...

So at what point can I start to panic?? I am not a typical rad onc applicant.. I have some negatives against me.

Vast majority were after ASTRO. I got 4-5 in december. You have time! The interview invite thread on here was pretty reliable last year, and should help give you a sense of when to start getting worried. If you do see an invite posted and you haven't heard either way, It can be helpful to e-mail the program and reiterate your interest.

When I was applying, I was asking the same question. You can look at the interview invite threads from the last couple of years and get an idea of approximately when programs give invites - of course, this will change a bit from year to year but its nice as a general guideline. Take a nice deep breath and keep moving forward. My first invites were in October, then had a couple of weeks of no invites, followed by a multiple invites (sometimes multiple daily) in November and December (end of Nov > Dec I think). I even had two invites open up in January, so it's a long process. Good luck!

Thank you guys for being there to answer the questions. The reason I am a little more sensitive to the issue is because I have a few negatives on my application that makes me worry even more..a lot more..I know there is nothing else I can do other than wait..You guys know if people on the interview trail with you that were applicants that weren't typical applicants? Like IMG's??

If you are that worried make sure you are applying to a backup specialty and are applying to most if not all rad onc programs in the country.

I found out the hard way that by the time you really get a sense of how many interviews you're going to get, it's too late to add more programs and be seriously considered by most of them.

Thank you, I have applied to all programs except CA. and New york methodist cause NYM does not actually have spots open till 2014 so the ERAS thing is a mistake.

Now you know what happens when they reject you 🙁. Arghh, Case.
