Sent one of those negotiating aid emails, it was pretty vague and written in a grateful not arrogant manner. Cant see why they haven't responded, in any form at all? Its been two days so far, but usually I feel like admissions turn around is quick.

**Not saying I deserve more money on the spot, just a response, even a simple "**** off buddy"**

If anyone has experience with this lmk what happen for you, otherwise just another neurotic post in a sea of them lol

School might want to wait until they can give you an affirmative answer, or until they are sure that they must give you bad news.... giving you bad news now and then having money freed up later means you might jump ship upon hearing the bad news and not be around when they finally have some unclaimed funding that they can toss your way.

This is also a winding down time of year when some people may take a well deserved vacation and decide that any email from neurotic applicants can wait 7 days. Financial aid inquiries of this sort are not the kind of thing one gets vacation coverage to handle.

Who did you write the email to? Was it the Admissions office, the dean, the financial aid office, or someone else?

This email was in regards to merit aid, addressed to the dean of admissions and sent to admissions (School merit committee and admin committee are the same thing)

Solid points, thank you

Also one thing to add I was vague about scholarship funds and which school... but assuming they have the multiple acceptance report they probably know which one and I just let them know I was given enough to where it was more affordable to attend the other school

If i dont hear back in lets say.. 1-2 weeks do I call or email again?

Wait at least 2 weeks. email.

I disagree. The OP should go to the Financial Aid office in person immediately and request further information. The request should preferentially be made in the form of a singing telegram.

Dammit, dude, I was looking forward to five pages of people getting themselves banned for flaming one another while arguing about my post before the thread got closed for completely derailing. Way to spoil my fun.

It’s only been two days... I don’t get why you think that’s an unreasonable amount of time before replying...

What about 3 days? 4 days? 1 month? 495 months?

Doesn't matter he wont let me in because of the sign that says no pounding, no begging :-/

I usually consider the absolute minimum for any official communication a week before I even consider following up. Especially if, as @LizzyM says, this is a 'winding down time.' Don't panic, be patient.

I don’t understand what your point is
