I go to print my scheduling permit and confirmation for Step 2 CS... and for the past month, i've known that my exam in for this sat. in PHIL.

Surprise surprise, i logged on and LOS ANGELES is staring me in the face.

What to do?! My flight (to PHL) is tomorrow!!!

I can't believe this royal screw-up... has this ever happened before?

Advice, please- I can't afford to miss it --> miss NRMP deadline for ECFMG certificxation = sit at home for a year.

What a horrible situation to be in; I sympathize.

When you first registered for the test, a confirmation page should have been generated, containing your name, test location, date, time, a confirmation number and a registration identification code. If you printed that page, you should be able to fax it to ECFMG and ask them to fix the mess.

Once you log in, there should be still an option to re-print the confirmation notice, although by now it may say Los Angeles. If you did print it out when you registered, however, the page should bear the printing date in the lower-left hand corner and you would be all set.

If that original confirmation notice in hard copy is available, I would just call/fax ECFMG, and show up in Philadelphia as planned.

thanks for replying--

of course, I didn't print out the confirmation last month, thinking that a) i would lose it b) i could reprint..but I DID save it as a webpage, but my mom couldn't figure out how to find it on the desktop.

In all fairness, the VP of the CSOperations called me at 7:30 am this morning- and they are insisting that their computer says LA (which, obviously it does)

Suffice it to say, this is psyching me out- and I have to make a 10 hour trek to LA- and compensate for the time difference.

Oh well. I'm furious, but I can't dwell on it. Gotta make the most of it. Not to mention how much money this has costed- last minute flight to LA, last minute hotel res- and I'm losing the money on my other arrangements for Phl.

Thanks again- and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.
