Does anyone know a little more about the differences in Emory's 3 and 4 semester Global Epi MPH.

Is the 3 semester harder to get into?

Was 3 semester too accelerated for you?

thanks!
😀😀😀

On their website it says that the 3 semester requires "department approval" so I am assuming its harder to get into and/or you may need to be a better applicant

On that basis, I applied to the 4 semester, but I could be entirely wrong!

I'm in epi, so I can't speak for GH exactly, but epi also has a 3 or 4 semester option. For epi: honestly, I can't imagine trying to finish this program in 3 semesters, mainly because I think it would be really hard to handle the course load in addition to finishing your thesis by that time. Unless you already know what you want to do for your thesis, have a strong statistics background, already know SAS, etc., I wouldn't recommend it.

You can choose 3 or 4 semesters after you are accepted.

Both 3 and 4 semester cost the same. Doesn't sound worth the stress to me just for a few extra months of salary.

I just called Emory and they told me that the three semester only exists for health policy, and that epi doesn't have it. is that true?!?

I don't know, 3 semesters was an option last year. We had to chose which track we wanted in OPUS last summer. However, I don't think many epis or glepis do the 3 semester track. The only ones I know that are finishing in 3 semesters are the MD-MPHers.

The best person to talk to would be Jena Black, the epi/glepi ADAP. She knows all things epi MPH at Emory (she's awesome!).

Thanks! I'm going to call tomorrow and harass them some more. They seemed really busy when i called.

I called emory. If you apply for Epi 3 semester, if rejected from the three semester they will automatically consider you for 4 semesters too.

*** Emory will be reviewing applications through next week, so, right up until christmas*** (she didn't know when exactly the adcom members would be all there after the holidays)
