Haha, so who else is sorely tempted to call Emory admission tomorrow instead of waiting for the snail mail to come? Or am I alone in my horrible anxiousness to hear back from them?

Haha, aw, Happy Bday! I actually shot them an email today, only because I was invited by another school to interview (within the next 2 weeks, so short notice!), but if I got into Emory, I can turn that one down right now before I start booking plane tickets. I don't know what it is about Emory, but I totally love it there.

We'll see if they get back to me though.

yeah, I asked if they emailed or snail mailed, and they said they snail mailed it "the old fashioned way".

Who knows why no emails. Then again, who knows why some schools like Dartmouth do EVERYTHING by snail mail, including secondaries.

They only trickle out a couple though right? So good news is either acceptance letter or no letter? Do they start sending out rejections also?

No rejections, they either accept October-March and then in March either put you in an "acceptable pool" or reject you.

I believe they said no rejections until March. They just "re-review" files until then.

Yeah, I was wondering about that. I know they just keep re-reviewing you until May or whenever decisions stop, but do they also mail you a letter to let you know you didn't make it this round? I can't imagine they just don't send you ANYTHING, that would lead to so many people calling them around that one day a month asking them about their status just in case it got lost in the mail (haha, I'd probably be one of those people)

just wondering...how did everyone's day go at Emory? The group interviews weren't too bad??

Group interview was actually pretty awesome. Not at all scary or confusing, it's basically 3 individual interviews, just held in the same room. They very clearly address one question to one person, so it's not like vying to answer. It's actually interesting to see how other people answer their questions.

And none of the questions are particularly stressful or questions that have "sides". Most are open ended like: tell about hobbies, about your family, about your major, etc. Probably so that we don't start debating each other, lol.

The day was awesome, totally sold me on the school. Just relax and enjoy it, and bring sneakers if your shoes are the comfiest.

So I guess the next step is to wait and hear when somebody gets an acceptance from Emory! If anybody gets one in the next few days, please post it! And maybe what state you live in so the rest of us know when to lose hope for this round 😛 Thanks!

There's just something so unsettling about getting nothing in the mail and wondering what's going on with your application. Why don't they just email us like normal schools because they're clearly having to deal with way more annoying phone calls this way.

I'm doubting that they get that many annoying phone calls. You guys have plenty of time for your files to be reviewed. It isn't like you have no chance of getting in if you don't hear back this week. Just don't sweat it.

Haha, of course. But still, I've had a few occurrences of things getting lost in the mail, and given how excited we probably all are about hearing back, it's almost tortuous to not get a shred of evidence that your file is still being looked at. Lol, as the months go by, I'll probably start having nightmares about my acceptance getting lost in the mail/sent to one apartment over by mistake, resulting in my getting un-accepted because I didn't accept the offer within two weeks.

I interviewed at Emory this past Friday. June said they have yet to send out any acceptances. PM me if you want to know the reason why…it’s a bit ridiculous IMHO.
