Hi! I have an interview at Emory & Henry next weekend. I was wondering if any current students had any tips or could tell me what the interview is like. Even if someone from a school other than Emory & Henry had any tips or typical question examples, it would be greatly appreciated!

From what I remember from my interview last year was they wanted to know a main struggle that I had been through, what does "occupation" mean to me (in context to OT) and other information! It was very laid back and they just wanted to get to know me which I loved! I don't know if they will have different questions though this year

Oh okay thanks for the info! Do you go there now?

I do! Let me know if you have any other questions! 🙂
How do you like it?! Do you like the area where the school is and are there a lot of places for students to live?

Yes I do love it a lot! The area is a small town but it is a beautiful area! There is Bristol and Wytheville about 45/25 minutes away respectively. I think there are good options for students to live! Tracie does a great job at providing housing information months in advance! 🙂 She will help you find any kind of housing!

I have an interview there in a couple weeks too. I was wondering how large the cohort size is? Also is it a panel interview, where each faculty ask you questions or is it a 1 one 1 interview with a faculty member. Thanks for your help!

The first cohort is 28, mine is 33, the max they will take is 34. My interview was 2:1 faculty ratio, think that is the same for this year. Good luck with your interview!

Thanks so much for all the information! I really appreciate it! One more question! Do they send out acceptance/waitlist/rejection letters through the mail or email?

Anyone else still haven't heard anything yet?

No, I haven't even gotten a confirmation email or anything
I had an interview this past Saturday and from my understanding they send out requests for interviews in a cycle. I was told they were doing interviews the day I had one, a day in February, and a day in March! Don’t lose hope!

What was your impression of the interview?

How long did it last?

Tracie emailed us all in Nov

You should reach out to Tracie. She contacted me about missing items from my application in Jan in order to get them to her. (One of my LOR’s wasn’t uploaded.)

She is pretty responsive.

It was great! They are so welcoming. It’s pretty laidback as well. They just want to get to know you. Mine lasted for a good amount of time. It’s kinda up to you how long it is! You’ll do great!

I was only there a little over an hour total- 30 min tour and 30 min faculty interview. There were only 6 interviewees there at my time slot. I went in about 10/15 min early so I had time to talk to the other interviewees before it all officially started. There were 3 current students there to give the tour and answer any questions. I'm assuming you could have stayed around after your tour/interview was done and any of them would have answered more questions. But like Smr2017 said, it was very laidback and the faculty/students/staff were so nice! They didn't ask any strange questions either so no reason to worry. I didn't interview with Dr. Jackson, but was told that he sort of always has a blank look on his face so don't think that he doesn't like you if you have him!

I’m hoping that since he spent some time in Texas, that I can at least have that to talk to him about! Thanks y’all! Really appreciate your support and the insight to what you thought. Fingers crossed for being future classmates!

They send out that information through email normally... I am glad the people that had their interviews already had a great time! This program is fantastic and can't wait for a new cohort of people to experience it!

I received an email yesterday about an interview invitation for March 3rd. Does anyone know how many candidates they are taking from this interview date?

I’m sure they interview double the amount they accept. No way to really be sure though.

Let me know when you get your interview times.. would be cool to see if we are in the same ones. 🙂

Are y’all local or from out of state?

Good luck on your interviews! I had mine on Feb 10 and it was really laid back like everyone had said. They make you feel really welcome and tell you to just be yourself. The area is a small quiet town but the facility is really new and nice... seems a great place for graduate school. I’m still waiting to hear back though :/

Thanks! Hopefully you hear back soon.

I heard within three days that I had been accepted.

I interviewed on January 27th. Yes, I did accept. Emory and Henry was by far one of the cheapest schools!
🙂 is it? I haven’t really looked into prices because my funding is covered by the VA. That is great that they are offering an affordable option. I do know my housing allowance will be less compared to other schools, but the cost of living is lower. I love the rural appeal. Looking forward to spending a weekend out there.

Has anyone heard back from their Saturday interview?

Found out that I was accepted into Bay Path's program today. Hoping to hear back from E&H as I feel like it may be the better option for me. 😀 If anyone hears anything.. please post.

I heard back from Emory and Henry three days after I interviewed on 1/27. Hopefully you’ll hear soon!
