one of the essay prompts asks for a narrative research experience just like amcas essay #3. do you think it would be ok to copy and paste the same essay or is this frowned upon?

Call them an ask, but I'd say use that space to go into more detail. "On my AMCAS essay I talked about XYZ. Now I have other things to say about it."
Just my opinion, though.

I called and asked, and they said it's okay to repeat information. She said this is our opportunity to go into more detail - the reviewers are probably gonna read this one and not the AMCAS one.
Not to mention, she highlighted the fact that there is no word limit on your Narrative response.
But don't take my word for it...give em a call!
I believe I addressed everything on the AMCAS research essay, and I don't want to just post it again on there, guiding the admission committee member to read through it then realizing it's the same essay. So right now my plan is to simply write:
"Please see my AMCAS research assay. Thank you."
What do you guys think? 😉

I have a quick question regarding one of the questions in the secondary application: "Narrative Summary: Describe all of your research projects, WITH EMPHASIS ON YOUR MOST SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCES. Include goals and background, brief methodology, results and indicate where, when, and with whom the project was conducted. Reprints or preprints may be used as a substitute to describe your role in any multi-author projects."
My AMCAS application contained a section on my significant research experiences: "Please describe your significant research experiences. In your statement, please specify your research supervisor's name and affiliation, the duration of the experience, the nature of the problem studied, and your contributions to the project."
Would it be okay to include significant portions of my AMCAS essay (with some modifications) in the Narrative Summary of the secondary application?
Regarding your question below, the answer is absolutely. Use the secondary essay to perhaps, add additional detail. There is no character or page limitation.
