Does anyone know if they typically are interviewing for residency positions, or for interns for future residency? I was confused by something I read in their website.

Its for the residency program. They accept both 4yr and 6yr MD.

Does anyone have any info on the OMFS program at Emory - in terms of case load, clinical training, didactic cirriculum, etc. Any opinions on the pros v. cons of this program?

I did an externship there. They are really very heavy clinically, doing just about everything except cancer. Trauma hospital, private/university and VA rotations. They have didactics everyweek for 3 hours on Monday with the faculty and then the residents do another night without the faculty

A resident transfered to my program from emory last year. It was for personal reasons but PM me if you want to know more.

I externed there a while back. Great place. I enjoyed being around all the residents, faculty, and staff. Very nice people. The surgical training is exceptional and full scope.

Full scopre including cosmetics and pediatric craniofacial? Do they get much cleft training?

In the two weeks I was there I saw one palate closure and one nose. It looks like they do it, but not alot of that type of stuff.

Does anyone know about the med school part of the interview for the 6-year program? The website says you need a minimum 3.5 UG GPA for their med school requirements -- I was just below this, but they offered me an interview for the 6-year spot anyway.

Is this just a formality they have to go through with the med school?

Is it worth going through with the interview? There are conflicting interviews I'd like to attend (OHSU, for example).😳

If deciding between OHSU and Emory, pick OHSU.

Better pick OHSU baby!!! By the way, the best thing i liked about EMory was the hot secretary😍

Just got an email from the PD, she is leaving....I wanted to meet her.

I got an email about interviews from Perciacante yesterday, that secretary left last week.

I interviewed at Emory today. It was a good day. Medical school interview is tomorrow.

I heard today that the Progam Director is stepping down in February. His practice looks like a lot of the surgery and most of the cool cases. Does anyone think that will be a big factor?

Yes.

I believe Dr. P did a large number of orthognathic cases. I think there will still be plenty of surgery to be done at Emory. They're a super busy program.
