Hi there,
I hope all is well and want to thank you in advance to all that replied.
Finally graduated and looking into repayment options, more specifically "Public Service Loan Forgiveness", and one of the requirement is that you have to be a "Public Servant" in a 501 (3) (c) for 10 years. So, my question is, are PM&R docs an employee of said employer who is listed as a 501 (3) (c) by the IRS or are they contracted (e.g., most anes and er docs are contracted)? Do you know how hospitals typically employ PM&R docs? Is it difficult to find a position in a 501 (3) (c)?
Not sure if this would be the proper place but can an attending shed some light on what one can anticipate in salary coming out of residency with a fellowship in peds and/or pain? Did some research on this but info found is either old or no clear answer. Also, if it's not too personal, what route did you take for repayment? Choosing the "right" repayment plan is so overwhelming that my head is "spinning". Doing the calculations, the what-if scenario, regulations, taxes, etc, etc, etc... UGH!!!
Again, all advice, suggestions, comments, personal stories are all VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.
