About 2 years ago, I received my certification to be an EMT-B. However, I was never able to even volunteer as an EMT. The reasons being that 1) I applied and was rejected by the university EMT program (which to be fair was notoriously competitive), and 2) I admittedly fell out interest in medicine. However, I now find myself applying to postbacc programs, and I was wondering if I should even mention my EMT experience in my personal statement, or put it in my resume. Will it look bad, or will it at the very least show some interest in medicine?

It seems that some adcomms don't even care about EMS employment... I doubt they'd care about a cert that is easy to get and was never used.

I'd mention it. When I did mine we got like a fair amount shadowing/clinical hours out of it, so why not? And who says they don't care about EMS employment @frosted2
