If you finish EMT-B will you get some kind of cerificate? Also how much does the class cost? Please does anyone have information on this?

Yes, you will get an EMT-B certificate - depending on you state, it could be NREMT-B. Cost is dependent on the school - usually a semester in length. I don't know how many college credits, but it's generally 90-200 hours of training, again, depending on your state requirements.

Cost from what I have seen is anywhere between $0 and $1500. Usually you can get it for free at the private ambulance companies if you agree to work for them afterwards.

I think my class here was about $300.
Then we needed uniforms, and boots and books. Maybe another $500.
That's about it to get the Basic cert. (we got a cert from state, and another from NREMT.)
Then there was an advanced academy..about $200 +
$150 CEVO (ambulance driving)

I was suprised to learn that I was one of the few people in class that actually paid for it. Most were there on grants....they got paid! to take the class....something to look into...

in addition to these other people...yes there is a cert you will get either through the mail or handed to you(mine was through the mail), the cost for my state is 100 flat, which includes test site, book, and materials. EVOC(ambulance driving) and other classes could be either free, or 50-150 dollars. The NREMT-B might be like 20 some dollars to take the test or so..not sure though

After you pass the state or national exam, you will recieve a wall certificate and a wallet card, signifying that you are in fact a certified EMT-B.

You can take an EMT-B course at a fire department, ambulance service, volunteer agency, community college, university, or private organization.

The courses for college credit typically cost more than the non-credit classes at EMS agencies. If you promise to volunteer or work for a service, they will often pay for the course or provide you one of their own. (As mentioned in the post above.)

if you're from NY, the state will pay for the class assuming you're part of an agency with an agency code (the one that goes on the PCR)...
