I was wondering if anyone has taken an accelerated EMT courses in San Diego. I've found one place, but I'd like to look at multiple places. I am hoping to work as an EMT after undergrad while starting applications for medical school.

I was also wondering if it is significantly more difficult to find work if one takes an accelerated course.

Thanks!

There is an EMS section on SDN that might be more appropriate for your question. In general though, I don't think most employers are concerned about where you got your EMT cert as long as you have it.

As the quality/continuing education coordinator of a rather large EMS system, I can tell you with certainty that almost no one cares where you got your EMT as long as you passed the state exam and know what you are doing. (paramedic school is another story though....)

Having said that, how accelerated are we talking about here? A regular EMT-B class in most parts of the country is only 3-4 months long as it is.... and you risk not passing that state exam if you speed through things too quickly. What's the state exam pass rate in this program? Ask a few questions before signing up or you are just wasting your time and money.
