that doesn't sound very tasty

for something that doesn't have any real sugar in it and little fat, it was pretty good! I'm sure the real version is much better (but I gag at the thought of dumping so much sugar and that many calories into a drink).

and definitely look into weaning yourself from caffiene. I stopped drinking caffiene over winter break (I only drink coffee to help stay alert for studying) and I had terrible headaches for days. it got better, but I felt pretty icky for a while. do it gradually to save yourself a lot of pain.

i guess ending caffeine all together might not be the best thing. i think a coffee in the morning is ok. Caffeine probably disrupts your sleep cycle only if you take it in the afternoon/night. i think i should have called this thread "Limit Caffeine Intake Before Med School Thread." My dad told me this morning: "Coffee is one of the greatest things about life. Live a little."

I think your dad has a point. I have just limited my daily coffee drinking from eight cups to four cups this week, and I don't feel any of the kind of nervous jitters I sometimes used to get. I don't think there would be any real benefit to cutting it out completely.

This thread desperately needs a poll...My vote goes to Dunkin Donuts😍

I quit drinking coffee before I came to college. Several medical students and a wonderful surgeon that I shadowed told me that I really shouldn't get in the habit of using caffeine. I get by on much less sleep now- (5 to 6 hours) and I feel fine in the mornings.

Caffeine is seriously overrated.

The surgeons I work with don't drink coffee before cases because it makes their hands shake.
