I'm ending my first year of college as a bio major with a descent 3.6 gpa. I am wondering what the dental schools expect in terms of volunteer and course work? Should i look to get a summer job dealing with medicine?

I'm also debating whether or not dentistry will be the right job for me... I definitly want a career in one of the health fields, but i don't want to limit it just to dentistry.

The best way to figure out if you enjoy dentistry is to shadow a dentist, either in private practice or clinic. If you're interested in other health professions shadow them too. You can always put shadowing experience on applications despite the profession.
