End of August too late to add schools to AADSAS?

I've already applied and my apps are being processed (apps sent, but not all letters have been sent yet even though they were received) but when is it not really worth it anymore to add more schools?

It is too late now or is it still not totally ridiculous if I wait another week, I want to see how my DATs go before I add more schools (I've already done 12).

When does it become "too late"? Obviously october and on would seem so late but everyone keeps saying how right now is late too.

Just so you know, the standard time for AADSAS to send your application to additional schools is two weeks. At least that's what they told me after emailed to ask why it was taking so long.

As far as being too late, I wouldn't say so. Some schools have barely started sifting through the piles. If you wait another week, figure it will be a month from now before they receive your application. I would just say if you're going to do it, sooner is better than later.

Of course, this is my first cycle applying and I don't know any more than the next jerk 😉

if you submit your application later than august 18th at midnight, then it is considered "late." therefore, you better add those schools now.

I realize my question might sound ridiculous or come off as me being really worrysome to people more experienced with this, but I really don't know if it is too late that's why I am asking. So many schools haven't started yet but others have interviews lined up til December as predents indicates so that's why I didn't know if it is just throwing money away if I add schools now or if it is worth it.

For several schools (Case, Nova, etc) submitting now may be considered too late, but for many other schools (many northeast schools) applying now is absolutely fine because they haven't even started offering interview invites yet. Also, many schools have rolling admissions and consider applicants through winter and beginning of spring. Short answer: send in your application now, but call schools and ask if it's too late if you are really overly concerned.

I know for certain all NY schools (Buffalo, stonybrook, columbia, NYU), along with the boston schools have barely begun reviewing apps.
