1. Food storing tissue in the developing plant embryo is called?- endosperm. What if cotyledon was given as an answer choice too (or would they not do that?) I was under the impression that the cotyledon stores the food and contributes to di/mono features while the endosperm is more involved in feeding the embryo?
2. What is the E2 product for
Br
CH3CH2-C-CH3
CH3-C-CH2CH3
H
Answer-
CH3---C---CH2CH3
(C=C double bond)
CH3---C----CH2CH3
What I am confused about is why this is more stable then
CH2CH3---C---CCH3
(C=C double bond)
CH3---C----CH2CH3 ???
This is what I selected because the 2 ethyl groups were trans but apparently the answer has them on the same side because E2 results in an antiperiplanar configuration. This causes it to rotate around. Can anyone explain?
