hey folks, does it make financial sense to do an additional year of fellowship training after interventional cardiology in endovascular interventions? what is the market for such a skillset outside academia (which is woefully underpaid)?

is this like peripheral stuff? could be a printing press as it's the wild west out there

if it's a cto fellowship, then def not worth it.

Peripheral intervention will definitely help expand your options in the future. I would try to get into a program where EVT fellowship can be done in the 3rd year, followed by IC fellowship in the 4th year, rather than 3-year general +1-year IC + 1-year EVT.

Won’t necessarily be needed to land a job but does open up a lot higher ceiling if you can get an equity position in a ASC/office-based lab.. or to a lesser extent an RVU based production contract
