I am a Canadian, so a DO degree is something I've never heard of before. However, I was looking at the Carms (central body through which Canadian Residency hopefuls apply) website, and it says that if you've completed a DO degree, that you may apply for a Family Medicine residency.

Does the same hold true in the USA? Can a DO only be a GP? or can he/she do other specialties ie. Surgery

Well, it has obviously been nothing offensive, at all, toward to OP. This is just how things bang sometimes. We are just having a good time.....you should chill out and realize that not everything in these threads needs to be serious. But I do apologize to you if it has been vexing.
