No details to protect the innocent, but does anyone have any good references on enmeshment between patients and practitioners and/or infantilization?

Search fails miserably because almost any article about family enmeshment uses the word provider, practitioner, therapist, psychiatrist, or psychologist somewere in the body.

Appreciate the help.

You probably already know this, but you can put a "-" in front of words you want the search to exclude. So, using Google Scholar, for example, you could search, "therapist patient enmeshment -child -family." I tried that, but I don't know exactly the results you're looking for, but some things came up.

As Birchswing said I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for specifically, I've found plenty of articles talking about enmeshment in all sorts of circumstances - boundary violations, dual relationships, anorexia nervosa, panic disorder, schizophrenia, therapy outcomes, etc etc etc (most of which seem to just have 'enmeshment' as a key word not an actual topic) - but I don't exactly want to just throw a heap of potentially meaningless articles at you. If you try the Tor browser (just Google 'Tor Browser', you'll need to have Firefox installed to actually run it) and then copy past any of these .onion urls into the address bar once the Tor browser is up and running (should be fairly simple to set up, just download, install, include desktop folder, click on said folder and go to the little onion symbol that says Tor browser, double click on that and then 'connect'), it should give you some enhanced search capabilities for academic interest or research - although still no guarantee you'll find what you're looking for.

I've only included clean (ie safe) dot onion url search engines in this list.

3g2upl4pq6kufc4m.onion/ – DuckDuckGo Search Engine
xmh57jrzrnw6insl.onion/ – TORCH – Tor Search Engine
32rfckwuorlf4dlv.onion/ – Onion URL Repository
e266al32vpuorbyg.onion/bookmarks.php – Dark Nexus
5plvrsgydwy2sgce.onion/ – Seeks Search
2vlqpcqpjlhmd5r2.onion/ – Gateway to Freenet
j6im4v42ur6dpic3.onion/ – TorProject Archive
p3igkncehackjtib.onion/ – TorProject Media
kbhpodhnfxl3clb4.onion – Tor Search
dppmfxaacucguzpc.onion/ – TorDir – One of the oldest link lists on Tor

Good luck, again not sure if this will help but at least it may give you a chance to widen your scope.

Sorry for the lack of details, I'm pretty worked up about it still and also not sure what I can say that won't make the situation worse. Suffice to say that the behavior of a couple members of our treatment team is causing bad outcomes for the patients, damage to the milieu, and resulting in staff members being hurt.

I'd start my search at PubMed and PsychInfo first personally.

*smacks forehead* Geez I'm an idiot sometimes, I completely forgot that as Physicians you guys have access to places like PubMed. I was thinking more as a layperson being able to access deeper hidden files and research not ordinarily available through the usual search channels. Just call me Homer Simpson, Doh! :smack:

Sorry to hear that, sounds like a stressful situation all round. Hope you're able to get it sorted, I'm sure your work is pressured enough without any added hassles making things worse.

This sounds ominous. As a resident, I hope you're protecting yourself enough while trying to wade through that mess.
