Hello,

I'm working my coursework on AADSAS.
It says 'Enter number of credits ATTEMPTED'...
Does that mean that I need to put credits for the course regardless of what I received on the course?

Even if I received A-(3 credits course), I shoud put 12 credits? Am I correct?

I've just been putting the number of credits that the course was worth (which for the majority of mine was 4). I don't think it's referring to grade points attempted/earned. However, I find it surprising that they don't want to know the number of credits actually EARNED from the course.

Also, what are you doing about lab courses...are you entering the lab section on a separate line? I haven't been, assuming that when they get my transcript they'll see which courses have a lab associated with them, but I'm not sure...

Credits attempted would be like

you take a 15 units/credits semester so you attempted 15.

If you got any letter grade other than an F on all those classes you still earned 15 credits/units

Your grade points for a particular class would be

Units/credit * Value of Grade(whatever it is)

and your gpa would be the grade points of all your classes divided by the units/credits you attempted for that semester.

if you took 4 courses all of which were 3 credit hours, that would be 12 hours. If you failed one, your credits earned would be 9 and attempted would be 12... enter the entire number of credits earned and attempted i.e. 90-120 depending upon your year in school and what system your school uses

they don't need to know. If you get a letter grade other than an F for a class you earned those credits/units regardless. I haven't seen it myself where you would only earn say 2 out of 4 units/credits.

I'm glad I don't have to deal with lecture and lab grades. Its all 1 grade for me.

so I attended a university where a one quarter class was 1.00 unit (needed 45 units to graduate). Should I input it as such and expect them to adjust it accordingly when they calculate my GPA or should I convert it? Even classes that had labs associated with it were 1.00 unit courses.

what about the courses that you dropped late during the quarter/semester?
Do we need to indicate these on the application?

If it appears on your transcript with any marking. P, F, I, W

If it doesn't appear on your transcript then no.

i read that as the number of credit hours per class. if it were intended to be the number of credits attempted per semester, wouldn't it be under the session entry page, not the class entry page?
i think they say attempted because they need to know how many hours the class was, even if you dropped it.

If you go to any UC school (maybe even all quarter-system based schools), the VAST majority are 4-unit classes

Labs are generally 3-units and seminars are usually 1 unit

Again, this is for quarter system. Semester, it's "more" units.
