I want to confirm if I am entering AP credit properly, perhaps this can help others too.

For example, AP Biology

I go to the first semester of college and enter add course.

Academic Status: Freshman
Course Number: BLANK
Course Name: AP Credit: BIOLOGY
Course Type: Biology

Combined Lecture/Lab Course

Course Type: Advanced Placement
Grade: BLANK
Credit hours: 4

Is this right? Should I put G? Anyhow, thanks everyone.

That is what I did... except I put "AP Biology Examination" as the course title. Therefore, I put it was lecture only as a default since I am talking about getting credit for the exam, not necessarily the class.

This is the way I interpreted it. I did everything else in the same manner as you, including listing these AP credits under freshman year 1st semester. (1st semester at the university which awarded you those credits)

Anyone else know?

I asked about this on the AMCAS Questions thread... but it seems like people have done it in a couple different ways, as far as the grade is concerned. I was under the impression that we should use the letter G in the grade secion [pg 38 of the AMCAS booklet] but am i misinterpreting that? Someone else said they had used G but someone else also said they left it blank...

...and i just tried calling AMCAS to sort this out and they're closed for Reagan!!!!

Why would the AAMC be closed for Reagan?! The stock market closing is weird enough (though it made my morning commute much easier), but the AAMC?! A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE THE MCAT SCORES ARE RELEASED?!?! 😕 😕 😕

I basically did the same thing as the original poster. I'm not familiar with the placement of a G in the grade box and it isn't even a required field, so I imagine no one is going to make a big stink about it.

it just really goes to prove my theory that they have the tests fully scored and ready by the end of april and just do this to make our nerves a little more raw!! hehe....

Contrary to what my signature might imply, I haven't done listed any AP credits.

That said, I'd use whatever showed up on my transcript. Maybe a G? Maybe a blank space. AMCAS will make it look however they want when they verify your application. I doubt anyone has ever been rejected because, while the GPA, MCAT, ECs, and LORs were stellar, AMCAS corrected his/her AP class.

Read the AMCAS Instruction Book for the 2005 Entering Class, do your best, and don't worry about what 3 out of 5 SDNers did.

The federal government is, too. It's largely becasue with all the heads of state ang government running around, they'd really rather have fewer people downtown. Likewise, you'd rather not have to commute in and out today.

Does AAMC do the MCAT stuff or is it ETS?

I put it as a G last year when I filled my AMCAS. When I submitted my AMCAS, they changed to Advanced Placement, so either way is acceptable. Don't worry too much about it, AMCAS people will change it if it isn't the way they want.

What about entering classes that you have tested out of but got credit for? Do those even get listed at all? I tested out of a lot of Italian classes but they are all on my transcripts and count towards my degree. Should those be listed, if so how?

if you got credit for them i think they would have to go on AMCAS -- like the AP classes, I would put them on freshman year first semester if you tested out of them prior to school starting.
