How many of you got accepted and requested an entrance deferment? Did you get it? What were your reasons?

My understanding is that it's only under extreme circumstances that this would be granted. Is there something wrong, other than the cross-country move I know you have to do? If it's trouble moving out here, I don't know if they'd defer. I could guess other things, but it's really such an individual thing I don't think I could really help beyond the generality already stated.

I got one from UT-Memphis but it was based on course deficiencies. My argument was that it would be better for me to take Biochemistry I and II and Immunology over a full academic year, rather than try to cram it into one summer.

If you ask for a deferment and it is not granted the school does not revoke your admission though does it. This is assuming you show up and fill out the correct forms to still go when you are suppose to.

My admisison wasn't revoked after I asked for a deferral.

It's not about the move. But I have 2 prerequisites I won't be able to finish over the summer and I'm going back to Africa for some family issue. So I'm wondering if they will give me a entrance deferment because of those two reasons.

I assume each school takes the persons situation on an individual basis and the sooner you contact them, the better off you will be personally in finding out. I doubt anyone here can help you specifically.

They probably won't give you a deferment for not being able to finish your pre-reqs. But depending on the family situation they might.
