I just watched NOVA on PBS and they had a segment on epigenetics and how it can change the expression of genes of identical twins over the span of their lifetime. It also mentioned epigenetics' role in the generation of cancer and its possible role in curing cancer. The show interviewed Jean-Pierre Issa, M.D., who is a physician at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and he said that in a recent clinical trial using new epigenetic drugs he has observed a remission rate of 50%.
I'm sure many of you have heard of this before, just thought I would share it.
