I come from a school that doesn't have a Radiology dept. unfortunately. So I am in a slight dilemma concerning Letter of Recommendations. I hope someone can answer these questions.

1 - I have a Chair of Surgery (from another school where I did summer research), Chair of Pulmonary (from my school whom knows me well), and one private Radiologist (she knows me well also) writing my letters. Is this ok? That is, I don't have the normal 2+ radiologists writing my letters. If it isn't ok, how can I remedy this?

2 - I have a Assistant prof adviser that I am very close to. He is an MD JD who doesn't clinically practice but has appointments in various departments and has a role in training residents (heads simulation lab). I could get a stellar LOR from him because I worked with him on many projects throughout my first 3 years. But he's not a practicing physician. Should I go for this LOR?

3 - The deadline for LOR is today (or tom). If I get a LOR after this date and it cant be uploaded to ERAS, is it ok to email the residency director of whatever program I applied to with the new LOR?

Thanks guys!

1) Actually most people I've heard recommend (1) radiologist letter and two letters from people in different departments (medicine and surgery is perfect). You're golden.

2) I'd go ahead and ask for it, but you probably won't use it. But better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

3) The deadline isn't tomorrow, it's the first day it can be submitted. Most of them aren't going to look at LOR's until Nov when MSPE's come in, or so I've heard.
