I've asked this question elsewhere and gotten a few good replies but I thought this site may help. Anyone else having this issue? I submitted a document at the end of August, and it still has not been uploaded to the ERAS PostOffice. It is the only document that I and programs are waiting on and I fear that interviews are being delayed because of it. I am an independent applicant from a US school (previous graduate), so I questioned my school multiple times but they are not responding to me. I thought it was my school's responsibility to help. Am I wrong? I am also worried about other documents being submitted in a timely way (such as the Dean's Letter or additional letters of reference). What do I do? For this delay, is there some way to question ERAS directly? I've worked hard to get my documents in early and it's frustrating to me that I have to wait like this. I'm not a 99/99 board score candidate. I just want to get into a good program and not scramble. Thank you.

Well, yeah, you can call and email ERAS I would figure. Only you can call your medical school and ERAS to get documents sent in and make sure they are sent in. As you are a past graduate, your medical school should have all of your documents on file and is required by law to release documents of your education record for the purposes of applying for a job (i.e. residency). Although I don't want to be harsh, really you should have called ERAS a while ago and you should also call your medical school until you get someone.

Also you say that you submitted a document to ERAS, the only thing we can "submit" or actually upload is the personal statement. If you sent a request for someone to send in an LOR or transcript how do you know the did it???

reliant,
Darth is right.
Ultimately this is your responsibility. Other people (LOR writers, your school, ERAS) may drop the ball, but you have to follow up.

You don't tell us what the document is. If it's your transcript, then by all means call up your school and harass them to scan the thing in/send to ERAS post office. As I remember, for every document sent to ERAS, I got one email saying "document received by ERAS post office", then another one about 48 hrs later saying "document uploaded to ERAS postoffice". So if you never got the "document received" email several weeks after you thought the document was submitted, it was probably never submitted. If it's an LOR, then call the person who was supposed to be doing it, and see if he/she says it was turned in to your dean's office, vs. not. Find out at what point the document got lost in the system (and/or confirm it neve WAS in the system). Yes, your school should help you in the sense they should be able to tell you whether they ever received the document, vs. not.

If this is a document that your school was supposed to release (ie transcript), are you sure that you have signed the necessary release-of-info form and have it on file with your Dean's office?

Agree with above, you need to be following up on this aggressively. There are direct contact phone numbers and emails for ERAS if you go to their site. (if that's where the hang-up in the system is)

I don't know about US allopathic graduates but for International Graduates, ERAS has a lag time of upto 4 weeks ( after the date of reciept) until they upload the letter of reference/document.
