ERAS Question

I have a couple questions regarding 2-4 programs. Which would be more useful Prelim IM or a transitional year? How do you rank the prelim IM or transitional programs? Do you rank separate lists: one with EM programs and other with prelim IM or transitional programs?

For PGY-2 matches, you make a separate list.

What's best - prelim IM or transitional? Depends on what you're looking for. If you wanted, you could take the more electives in transitional - and do them in IM.

A lot of people do transitional because it can be very cush. That's why it's harder to get.

However, if you want a basis in medicine that may help you, prelim IM might work.
