eras usmle step 2 question

if one is not planning on taking step 2 until april 2006, in the usmle section of eras, should they only enter step 1, or enter step 2 as "plan to take" and the date? do programs look down upon someone planning to take step 2 so late, or should one just SAY they are "planning" to take it in dec/jan instead of april.

if you did well on step 1, they probably won't care as much. maybe the more competitive programs that need more criteria to sift out top tier from the second tier applicants might care a little. just say that you'll take step 2 in april on the application. if someone asks you about this during interviews, you can bullsh*t your way through this question.
