Errata document for HY Neuro

Does an errata list exist for HY Neuro (James Fix, 3rd Ed)? I couldn't find it on the publisher's website and I've done a quick search the interwebz too...

Anyone have any info on this?

Is there something specific from HY-Neuroanatomy that strikes you as being incorrect?

4th edition, page 35, figure 4-4. Is the part labelled "E" really an epidural hematoma? It looks more like subdural to me because it's rather evenly spread. The part labelled "C" is also confusing.

I read the second edition, so I can't see your image, but as far as gross appearance is concerned, epidurals should be bi-convex whereas subdurals should be crescentic.

If there is more detail in the image, it's also notable that epidurals can cross the falx cerebri but not suture lines, whereas subdurals cannot cross the falx but can cross sutures.

I did try to figure it out by looking for some of the things you mentioned. The one labelled epidural hematoma looks more cresentric while the one labelled subdural, although not bi-convex, isn't cresentric either. I'm not too sure how to see if it has crossed the suture lines/falx or not. Anyway, thank you.

"Epidural hematomas may cross dural attachments. Subdural hematomas do not cross dural attachments."

Isn't the exact opposite true, epidural hematomas are limited by dural sutures (hence the convex shape) and subdural ones are not (hence the crescent shape).

Are u saying that statement in the book is correct? It's possible that I'm confused, but I thought that epidural hematomas limited by (aka cannot cross) suture lines??

Epidural hematomas cannot cross suture lines, but they can cross the falx. Subdural hematomas are the opposite. -FA2014 pg446

The one labeled C is hard to interepret. If it was on my test, I would use the stem to help figure it out and convince me which is which. If you look closely at C, I think you can convince yourself that is it crossing the suture line (coronal?).
