Error Inputting Grades to AMCAS

I submitted my application several days ago. Today I was reviewing the PDF version of my application for fun.. and I saw that I entered a "W" with one of my grades. I finished the course and got a grade for it but for some reason I must have checked off the "W" grade when entering it on AMCAS.

So the application has my grade listed along side a "W".

What's going to happen now? AMCAS proof edit's the application and compares it with official transcripts but will it be a quick fix on their side or will my application most likely be postponed? 😎

I sure hope so, cause man, working full-time made it hard to submit the app much sooner..

Don't worry.. they have a magical staff of leprechauns that comb over those things with a fine-toothed comb and fix errors like that. Due to a strange set of circumstances, 3/4 of the entered info for my transcripts were corrected (to the correct info) by them.

They actually missed one of my grades. In my English Literature class, the transcript I sent to AMCAS showed a B+, but my grade was later changed to an A since the professor screwed up his calculations. I entered the grade as an A on my primary, and AMCAS didn't change it back to the B+ that showed on my transcript.

I wonder what else I could have gotten away with? 🙄

Yeah Ive been reading that many people are getting lucky and having amcas report higher grades... more like amcas will change an A- to a solid A.

I hope that's what happens to me, I could use soo much more help on the gpa side.

So Im not going to worry about my error in the appt. Hopefully it goes through FAST!

This will definitely be a quick fix. However it will be noted as a correction by AMCAS. Don't sweat it though. This will not make or break your admittance to medical school.
