Escitalopam and fatigue

Hi all,

I'm actually in med, but I though you pharm guys would know best!

I've been put on the antidepressant escitalopram (20mg), and I'm SO fatigued! I could sleep in all morning (and all afternoon) given the choice, I yawn ALL the time - even when I'm working out/after a good night's sleep. Is there anything I can do about this? Is this a 'normal' side-effect of antidepressants? Is there anything else I could take? Anything I could take to combat this?

Thanks for your imput (it's begining to make studying VERY hard!)

I do too. But what I've seen more with friends and family was insomnia accompanied by fatigue during the day.

Call your doctor, maybe it's just not the right one for you.

That's right, if it persists and you can't tolerate it have a chat with your doctor.
