How does estrogen cause a more hypercoagulable state? I tired to look this up but, so far, have found no clear cut explanation. Can someone shed some light onto this or point me towards an article? Thanks!

All I know is that E increases hepatic production of binding proteins, it upregulates plasminogen (incr plt adhesiveness), and upregulates factors 2,7,9,10 and AT3. HOW I don't know- it is a steroid and complexes to DNA which makes more RNA which makes more proteins which makes more of the above...😱
