Ethical Dilemma- Failed Classes Don't Show on Official Transcript

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Something doesn't add up here. I simply don't believe that Fs are excluded from your official transcript - that would make absolutely no sense from any point of view.

Assuming that's the case, though, AMCAS will only verify what's included on your transcript. As such, you should only include the courses that are on your transcript when putting them into AMCAS. Schools won't recalculate your GPA based on classes they don't see anywhere on any official documentation. Whether or not you want to tell them is your decision. A few schools ask for a signature from your dean's office stating that you are in good standing and don't have a judicial record at your university, but I doubt they'll ask for the particulars unless they have reason to.

I go to a school which grades on an A/B/C/F system, where F do not show up on the external (official) transcript. You are able to drop a class until the very last day of classes, and dropped classes also do not show up on the official transcript.

What school do you go to exactly? Hogwarts? This just doesn't seem right at all. In fact, it sounds really, really shady.

This is a troll. He posted it in nearly every forum.

Brown student here and OP is not trolling - NC's (or F's) will only show up on an internal transcript but will not be reported on an official transcript sent out by the institution.

From AMCAS: "You must enter all of the courses you took at each school"
This is pretty cut and dry. List everything. You are right about being forthcoming and should add the course that you failed on the AMCAS. If they found out later that you withhold information during the application process in the interview and even when you are already a med student, there are likely to be consequences.
