Hey everyone,
I had an interview at my state school (OHSU) a few months ago, but I have yet to hear a final decision from them. They recently sent me a financial aid info packet to fill out. I was considering taking it to them in person and asking about my status. Is this a wise move? Is there proper etiquette when going in like that to make it so it's not completely awkward?

If i were you, i would play it safe and just wait...or play by the rules they gave you. I believe most schools advice that you don't call or come asking about your status and stuff, but to instead wait for them to contact you. It could be that by going in, you might be pressuring them into making a more hasty decision, and there is a chance it might not go in your favor. That is just me though....but again I've always been cautious and not a risk taker when it comes to certain things.

Can you call them instead and get advice on the phone? You can simply say you're inquiring about your status and the packet. It seems awkward to go straight to the school w/out warning.

Its absolutely fine but its no different than making a call. Both of them will yield the same results. I would do a personal visit in case it turns out you're on a waitlist and you can speak with the director of admissions and get more info. You got a good idea, never underestimate the people factor.
