How many vag hyst are enough to feel comfortable after residency?
Some programs list as few as 25 while other programs have over 100, what is a good number?

Be careful with the numbers listed as you often don't know how many of those were as an intern where you basically act as an MSIV retracting and occassionally peeking into the anatomy. Vag Hyst is definitely an important procedure to master for private practice as that is where is you'll likely be doing alot of, however don't forget that the trend is moving toward laprascopic surgeries and minimally invasive procedures.

A lot of community programs will boast high numbers in Vag Hysts because of the high number of private attendings, but their numbers in other categories (such as laprascopic, REI, Uro, and High Risk Pregnancies) will lag. Look at the overall numbers when trying to pick programs.
