Many of you may be too new to have known her, but EventualEventer was a one time member of our community. She was passionate about training service dogs and posted in this forum last ~2 years ago.

For those of you that did know her, she passed away this morning. Our community is weaker having lost her voice.

So sad. 🙁 The bulk of her activity was before my time on SDN, but I still remember coming across her posts every now and again over the years. She seemed like such an incredibly strong, kind, compassionate person in spite of all of the obstacles, both health-related and otherwise, that she faced. Her family, friends, and those who knew and loved her are in my thoughts today.

I remember the first time meeting her in person, when she came to Davis for her vet school interview and a bunch of us went out to dinner. She was an odd duck, but so bright. Her sense of humor was...something. In more recent times as her father has been more active on her social media, I figured out where she got that from, hah.

I also remember hanging out with her a lot early on when we started vet school. She had some difficulties that year and had to take some time off, before joining the class of 2015. In the short time she was in my class, and my friend group, she definitely made an impression. We made up weird and dirty little mnemonics in anatomy class and she got super wrecked by a cat during like the first few weeks of school at a homeless pet clinic, I remember. I hadn't really spoken to her in person since leaving Davis, but she always made it a point to keep up on Facebook, interacting with my posts and posting on my wall to see how everything was going and check in.

She was definitely dealt a bad and unfair hand and though I am very sad for her family and close friends, I am glad for her that she is at peace after all that she has gone through. She'll be missed for sure.

Lowkey a little angry at some of the treatment she got from some of the physicians in her care.
Unfortunately, the more complex the cases, the more difficult it is to get good care. It isn't fair, but I think overwhelming health conditions that don't follow typical processes docs see on a regular basis equates to feelings of unease about what to do that comes off with hostility and back burner status.

This. I get the best care from doctors I have a really good relationship with - the ones that I have worked through multiple challenges on, etc. But I worry every day that I will get the treatment she did.

No apologies necessary, @Elkhart.

I appreciate you posting. It sounds like this was part of how she wanted people to honor her memory.
