GEW = Gram Equivalent Weight.

I understand what it is when I see it the equation, but I can't seem to remember what it is. Since I never remember seeing on a practice exam, or discreet question, I'm going to risk not trying to memorize it at all, unless it's definetely going to be on there.

GEW=MOLECULAR WEIGHT/n.... n being the number of hydrogen equivalents. For example h20 (water). has amolecular weight of 18. and the number of equivalents = the number of H in the molecule are 2 because H2O. so 18/2= 9. So 9 is the gram equivalent weight! for h30+ for example the molecular weight is 19 and the number of H equivalents is 3.....so 19/3=6.13 GEW
hope I explained it right

Thanks for the responses, I understand it, but after today's fiasco (I went down 3 points in PS for mis-gridding), I don't want to try and memorize any more formulas.
