Anyway, I just made an ASTOUNDING discovery while sitting here waiting to go out to dinner with my host.
********** ALL THE FAFSA CODES ARE IN THE MSAR!!!!! ********** Don't have time to post them all now. Hmmmmm......maybe even I won't have time for that! Plus there's this great chart that gives all the info on which schools want what on FAFSA and/or other forms and when they want it.
•••••OK, now that I've told you this, I have to clear up a confusing thing that comes up when you look up the codes in the MSAR. Some of the codes have a numerical suffix at the end of them, like -00 or -01. And some give a second number. I was having my Mom call the FAFSA folks for me and add more schools, and she called the schools first to find out what the deal was with that.
Just ignore the suffixes and second numbers is what she was told. Also, don't freak out when your original 6 schools disappear from the app. The schools will still be able to access the info, even though you can't see them on the app any more.
Oh, and Mt. Sinai's code is wrong in the MSAR, it's G07026, NOT 007026 as the MSAR states. But I'm sure you would discover that when you typed the wrong number in on FAFSA and the correct school name did not come up.
•••quote:•••hey i have an MSAR that is a couple years old. do you think the FAFSA codes are still the same? ••••I would think so, but you can double check on the FAFSA school codes search engine link that's given somewhere in this thread. Plus, as I said, if you type the wrong number into the app, and the wrong school comes up, you have the option of editing.
And we thought we were all done with everything but the waiting..............
