everyone tells me things and it makes me scurred

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
OP, you'll be fine for what it's worth I haven't submitted yet either, if you keep sweating the small stuff you'll end up like swiss, with your sarcasm glasses shattered on the floor from the collective punch to the face the forums gave you. BOOM - advice and ridicule all in one post

Fixed. I really do not understand why you guys are trying to be mean....😕 i'm so innocent...AND THAT IS NOT SARCASM.

wait, is this cyberbullying??????

With the right spin from Swiss in his secondary essays 3 years from now, heck yeah. "What trials have you had to overcome on your route to medicine?" "Well, these guys cyberbullied me on SDN."

Some of it you should: like...don't get obsessed with SDN so far before you are even a serious contender for medical school

I am not obsessed. I am just a regular member...but not so regular that it interferes with my studies.

i envy swiss... i think i would be in rotations now if i knew (h)sdn....

but your sig is kind of racist so i really don't on the other hand.

MDapps is not completed, but I will update it as I go on. ...

......When you accidently bump into/are in the way of a black [sic] girl. Then when you try to say sorry you get slapped in the face with a "Nig*a Please!" followed by a string of insults including ones aimed at your ethnicity, GPA (science/overall), Mcat score (breakdown), extracurriculars, research experience (clinical/lab), etc. And it all ends with a snap of the fingers and a bob of the head and she walks off. Leaving you in a total state of confusion.

Lol, here is the new title for this thread...

Is my sig racist.....A friend sugested it to me. he is on SDN now as we speak...uh ...post. This "Roasting" is becoming a little too much...

you're fine

also nice title

Thank you for not having the typical neurotic "I submitted on the 2nd day not the 1st can I still get into school" title.

Ok. I get the message now. Now please stop......😡

Wow. This roast got out of control fast.. Swissmed - I did think it was funny when I saw you gave advice in a 'what are my chances thread' to a rising senior at cornell............ with a 3.7 and a 31....

Oh, and you asked me what a "tool" was yesterday.... Did you really not know?

As a side note, I'm half swiss so props on repping those colors.

First of all, what is so funny about me giving advice? Is it because I'm too young or not an adcom member...or just a freshman? I had my msar in one hand and a coffee in another. I also had family who graduated from cornell and know from his stats and activities what kind of a chance he is able to command. I also have state ties with CT (not NY, but CT)

..and NO, I did not know what a tool was. Nick Naylor used the term, but I was never sure..and am still not.

I have a triple nationality. Swiss. Nigerian. American. My race is African-American.

Folks see what we have here? Despite being an hSDN member, he knows how to answer most questions you guys post on here! He uses his resources first! 😱 Holy ****! Who knew!?

Stay strong, my swiss hSDNer, for you shall grow up to be a strong med applicant soon enough.

Mmm...That probably adds up to quite a sexy accent.

Swissmed - I'm not trying to be hard on you. I just know that when I was an incoming freshman, I didn't know the first thing about med school or what it took to get in. Yes, you're ahead of the game so congrats on that. BUT be mindful that you have a **** load to learn. And saying stuff like 3.5 and 32 as a cutoff for secondaries can unnecessarily confuse someone. You'll be alright

Wait...Can you guys still tell me what a tool is?

A person, typically male, who says or does things that cause you to give them a 'what-are-you-even-doing-here' look. The 'what-are-you-even-doing-here' look is classified by a glare in the tool's direction and is usually accompanied by muttering of how big of a tool they are. The tool is usually someone who is unwelcome but no one has the balls to tell them to get lost. The tool is alwasys making comments that are out-of-place, out-of-line or just plain stupid. The tool is always trying too hard to fit in, and because of this, never will. However, the tool is useful because you can use them for things; money, rides, ect.

someone who tries too hard. a poser. one of those chic's who holds the sign saying "Carson Daly is Hot." the asstard who goes to a rock show because they heard one of the songs on the radio or mtv. or someone who insists on wearing velour sweat suits. Avril Lavigne.

I think it is the latter....

Actually I was hoping to get into Mount Sinai's Humanities program as a sophomore, but HS did not go so well for me...

You're proud?

Swiss Med, you're too young to waste your time with an MSAR. Not to mention it'll be somewhat obsolete by the time you apply. Go to class. Work on some EC's. Have some freakin' fun, for the love of God. Get off of SDN and come back in 2-3 years. Your life will be much better for it.

Wowee - because AP classes are as difficult as college classes.

Swiss - you have made my day. Now I feel bad making fun of you. So I am done. :welcome: to SDN my friend

Is this sarcasm?? I really can't tell...it might be. But if it is, AP classes are roughly the equivalent of a lot of college-level courses. They have approximately the same curriculum and depth of a regular college class. I took

ap stats
Ap eng 3 and 4
ap us hist
ap world hist
.....

Edit

Or maybe it is just propaganda from College board.

Except in college the classes tend to go fast. I mean you take AP's in highschool and you get the whole school year.

Now take that whole school year of work and cram it down into 10 week quarters or 15 week long semesters.

Also AP material is like the easiest stuff in college, and things can get very difficult very quickly.

For Orgo lectures, we had to swim through piranha infested puddles, with only our molecular model kits as weapons.

I'm scared to ask what you did in lab...

But seriously, this made me laugh. High five ralti. 🙂

Everytime I see this guy post, it reminds me of Etzio. Anyone remember that guy? He started off cool, then just went off the deep end

No.

I think a certain someone in this thread who is obsessing about the image quality of his avatar needs to take a healthy break from SDN preallo. Just a thoughtful suggestion. No offense intended.

AP Courses are not really like college courses - first off, they are much slower (one whole year), and there is one test that really matters. You just have to get a 4 or a 5. They aren't easy, but not close to college classes in my opinion. Maybe you'll see differently.

👍 I wish my college classes were like AP classes - teachers hounding you for work, and no real stress except the AP test, which wasn't THAT bad.

High five back! Lab was just lab, nothing fancy there 😉

Yes he is. He did a lot of DO bashing and would always tell people to never go that route IIRC.

On that note, I will end there before this thread turns into one of those threads again lol.

And Swiss, AP classes don't mean crap. I know people that rocked high school, never learned proper study habits, and could barely hack it in college. I know people that sucked in high school, turned it around, and dominated college.

You'll soon learn the differences between high school and college (both academically and non-academically). Just work hard, do you best, and don't turn into THAT guy.

Get off SDN and go have some fun, holy crap.

High school is nothing like college, you will soon learn that.

Yes, your sig can be taken as racist, you should change it. AND PLEASE stop saying that you're certified like the USDA
