FM transfer to psych...were EBM was pushed...
I'm finding that there is not much out there as to EBP in terms of texts..
I know every institution/program/attending has meds they like to use..however, where can a resident turn to for some hard statistics/EBP.
Any thoughts on these 2 books (or anything else out there)

The Evidence-Based Guide to Antipsychotic Medications
The Evidence-Based Guide to Antidepressant Medications

I would have a look at the NICE guidelines (www.nice.org.uk), the APA practice guidelines (most of which are out of date and not very good mind), the various CATIE, STAR*D and STEP-BD (go to clinicaltrials.gov) and the journal Evidence Based Mental Health for a start. The Lancet has also published some good meta-analyses in the past 5 years or so for antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and anti-depressants.

If you are just looking for textbooks I really like the Practical Guides in Psychiatry series - short, evidence-based, easy to read.

The sources Spilk mentions are all good as well
