Halo dude I'm going to attempt to answer your question even though I think its been answered multiple times now and is getting a bit redundant.
The question you ask is a complicated one; namely, if you were to attend EVMS, what are the chances you will end up at another school.
It really comes down to your stats. If you have a 3.2-3.4 GPA from a respectable school and a 30+ MCAT, the chances of you getting in else where are very likely if you dont botch the interview. If you have less than a 3.0, the chances of you getting in else where are virtually 0, which is why I'm in this program. I had the opportunity to go to BU and RFU but I chose this program because they really emphasize how you do IN the program, not how you did previously. The other programs do not do that to the level EVMS does. Even though I have a low chance of getting in else where, I still applied to 30+ schools. Not many people in this program apply widely at all. I'd say most people have only applied to a handful of schools whereas at Georgetown and BU, they apply everywhere. I think thats the fundamental difference which leads to the misleading statistic that the EVMS SMP gets people only into EVMS. People at EVMS simply dont apply as broadly because often times, they dont want to go anywhere else. Perhaps, if they were to apply as broadly as most Georgetown and BU students do, there would be more EVMS students all over the place. The EVMS program is really designed to keep people at EVMS for med school. EVMS lets you pass out of classes you do well in whereas Georgetown and BU usually dont if I'm not mistaken. This is a huge incentive to stay here. EVMS also has a grading system which enables you to stand out from your class if you want to do a competitive speciality. Plus, many people in the program are from VA and intend to live in VA after they're done with med school so this is perfect for them. EVMS SMP also has lower admissions standards then Georgetown so if you're starting off with lower stats, the chances of you getting in elsewhere are automatically lower. Georgetown SMP accepts a ton of people that could and should have gotten into med school w/o the program but for some reason, did not get in (ie applied late, poor interview, didnt apply widely, etc).
Heres what it comes down to: If you want to play the numbers game, Georgetown and BU will open more doors but if you do well at EVMS, it will open one door, and thats all you need.
Also, I wouldnt be so confident about getting into this program or an SMP in general. If you were that good, you wouldnt need to be going to an SMP in the first place. This should be a humbling experience. There is something wrong with your personality and/or your application thats preventing you from an acceptance. There are plenty of qualified people that are getting waitlisted and rejected here. You should feel lucky to be accepted into an SMP. It truly is a backdoor into med school and you should treat any acceptance you have as a virtual clean slate from your college academic life.
