what about an aural skills class with a lecture and a private lesson?
or a keyboard skills class with a lecture and practicum component?
or an orchestra class - does that count as a lab?

does it even matter?

ugh.

FWIW my undergrad actually designated anything hands-on (music lesson, art studio, scheduled darkroom time in a photography class, writing workshop) using the same system as science labs. So your aural skills and keyboard classes would be lecture with lab, and your orchestra class would be lab-only. (We had some science classes that were lab-only too, so even that part wasn't anomalous.) If your transcript lists your music "labs" with the same numbering or designation as it lists your science labs, then you may as well enter them that way.

I don't think it really matters. Medical schools aren't going to think of them as lab classes. They are going to be "ARTS" classes anyway.
