I was just wondering if this situation happens to anyone else;

At my school it seems as though all of our tests fall within the same week. The first tests are three weeks after semester begins. For example I have three tests within two days immunology, organic II and biochemistry. This is the first semester this has happened to me and I'm not sure how to approach this.

Have you found it easier to just go all out (studying all night) a couple of days before the exam or try and begin studying a week before? I know everyone is different but I am trying to figure out how best to go forward.

if you have 3 tests clumped together, you definitely need to start at least a week in advance.

check w/ your professors maybe they can move the exam for you or something.

This happens all the freaking time, like once or twice a month every semester. With only either three or four exams in each class, they are bound to fall in the same week.

Prioritize and spread out the studying, although it seems like you have three hellish exams. If you're really crunching for time, it might have to come down to "What do I absolutely need to do well on?" and "Which class can I take a hit and it won't totally destroy my grade?" Good luck, my friend. This is college.

As I learned in psych, learning works best when you do small amounts at a time, because your brain cements information when you sleep at night, amongst other things.

So, start studying as soon as you can.

Many med schools have all the exams clustered into one day, so every six weeks or so you get one mega-marathon exam day. My school did it this way, and I actually liked it better than college's constant and sporadic exams. There is no better feeling than a weekend after you've just finished taking exams in every class. Especially if those exams were med school hard.

If that were my schedule in undergrad, one professor would usually change the exam date to give us a bit more time. Of course, this didn't always happen but it was fairly common. They would ask for other course exam dates to avoid stressing us out.

I would definitely recommend talking with your professors. Just this past week I had my cellular biology test and my psychology test on the same day. I talked it over with my psychology teacher and he agreed to move it to Wednesday of the next week!

What a nice guy 🙂

they would only change exams for us if we had 3 or more finals on the same day.

seriously, several exams per week should be absolutely normal and expected. this is what medical school is like. I have exams in all of my courses this week over 5 weeks of material.

That type of situation happened to me ALL the time in undergrad (due to the lovely quarter system...). You just need to set aside time early enough to get it all done in time. I usually spent about 2-3 days studying per test so when I had 3 exams in one week, I started memorizing, etc one week before on the weekend (e.g. if the exams were during the week of Sept 27th, I started studying on Sat, Sept 19th).
