For those in NYC and Boston
-what are you paying (or planning to pay) on rent while at school
-what type of accomodation for that price (studio, 2, 3 bedroom?)
-how far from school and how do you get there (subway, bus, walk)

any input would be greatly appreciated.

rent should be about $1000/mo in boston, but there are ways to cut it down to about ....600-700 but for something close to the school about $1000 is a somewhat realistic average, however don't expect anything lavish for that price range.

currently i pay that much and i live across the street from the school in a studio apartment, it's not great but for the convenience i dont mind. i am moving to a new place 10 minutes away (walk) for the same price but it's a much nicer apartment than the one i'm currently in and it is 2bdr.

you might be paying about the same to live further out but generally the apartments will be more spacious. but nearly everyone in my class agrees that living close to the school is a must and a majority of the current class is planning to or will be moving into the proximity for the following year which is a trend you should take note of.
