Experience section

Awesome. haha.

Along the lines of "experiences," during the end my second-year I was approached by the Dean to tutor a fellow classmate in microbiology. It wasn't a paid position and only lasted about half of a semester, but I did meet with her a few times a week to go over the material. Worth putting on my application? Thoughts?

And another silly question - do we need to fill out the "reason for leaving" section? All of mine are because school started and it looks pretty ridiculous to have that in all the fields.

I was told that we do not have to fill out the reason for leaving if it is obvious. I think starting school would count as obvious.

in terms of experience, are we supposed to include experiences from college or things done between college and med school? Or do they just want to see what extracurriculars from during med school?

bump, would love to hear some feed back for the previous question. I'd think that research experience from undergrad should be included, but what about work experience and volunteer experiences... especially in cases where one had a long term involvement?

My own question. Should we go beyond a couple of lines for research experiences? For my general CV, the project title kind of describe what I did, but I also include technical laboratory information.. "analyzing this... performing that... simulating those.. blah blah." I guess this is more pertinent when applying for a research position, but what about for this residency application? thanks!

Curious about the above question too, and wondering if there is agreement about the 1-2 lines tops for experience descriptions....thanks!

KISS principle works well here folks. We will have 1000's of apps to review. Keep it short, and you can tell us the rest in your interview.
