besides Pathology, Biochemistry, and Neuroscience...

has anyone used this series for any other subject?

if so, plz post a brief review of it

Thanks-

I liked RR physiology, i picked this up half way thru my studying as a reference, b/c i felt like BRS - although good as a straight read thru - was not great as a reference, and RR had good charts/diagrams, it was also written by the guy that wrote Step1 Secrets, which I would also recommend early on for a good subject-based overview integrating Pathophys/pharm...

I also saw an old copy of RR Pharm, and liked the diagrams i saw in there...

fyi - ALL of the RR books have Goljan as the editor/reviewer (for whatever that's worth)

I used RR Micro/Immune, and liked it. Each book comes with good questions/answers and an online qbank, which is a good practice.

I used RR Micro/Immuno and absolutely loved it. I hate micro with a passion, and I despise MicroMadeEasy, so for me this book was absolutely awesome.

I also used RR Biochem. Around here, everyone uses Lippincott's - yet another book that I did not have the patience for.

Sorry - forgot to type the rest: RR Biochem was very good imo - I don't regret it for a second.

that link isn't working. can you or someone else tell me more about the lab book

I wasn't impressed with it because at least 50% or more of it is taken exactly from RR Path - same charts, pictures, tables. Basically it is the same book as RR Path, except it has a little more lab info and a little less path info. I can't quite figure out what they were thinking with this book...who/what test is it intended for? Step II maybe?

As mentioned above, the RR Biochem co-authored by Goljan is very good.

Most of the material in the Rapid Review Laboratory Testing in Clinical Medicine used to be in his comprehensive lecture notes he gave out to all the students at the Kaplan Retreats. People can still find the pdf version of these pirated notes just like the audio files out there on various sites. For instance all the biostats stuff in this book used to be part of the General Path section of his old lecture noes. I saw this book couple of weeks ago at the school bookstore and was almost tempted to buy it. But I figured my RR path is sufficient for now, it has most of the same pictures. Although there are some really good new ones in this book.

I think this stuff book can still be used as a supplement for Step 1, but it is better to stick to as few resources as possible... this is coming from a person who has too_many_books_ITIS.
