Experiences before applying to Pharmacy school

I want to ask you what is your volunteer and medical experiences before you applied to pharmacy school ?

I was a pharmacy technician for 5 years.

By the time I apply to Pharmacy School I will have been a tech for a little over 3 years. I also worked about 40 hours and stopped short of becoming a CNA after I saw how much of a joke it was.

Depending on your personal circumstances, if you can afford to take your time and gain experience in a variety of clinical settings/roles - medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, etc. I would highly recommend it. Keep an open mind and dont write off anything without having some hands on experience with it first. You simply don't know what you don't know, and getting more exposure will help you make a better informed decision.

Volunteer:

2 year mission trip overseas (translator for New Zealand healthcare agencies for tsunami victims and poverty families on outer islands in the pacific)

Experiences:

Past few years (and current) enlisted as a pharmacy technician for army in both inpatient / outpatient settings (compounding, vault tech, budget - orders, inventory reports, so on so forth).

I concur: get exposure to different settings...don’t rush in one field to decide what you plan on doing for the next few decades
