I have heard people mention "experimental" passages and questions on the MCAT--what are these exactly?
 
they're passages that resemble just any other passage in the MCAT.. usually verbal I think and is not factored in to your score. You don't know which one it is.

Though we usuaully guess it's the hardest or funkiest one.
 
Are there passages like this on all the sections, or just verbal? And are they on all the test forms, or just some? Or does anyone know? I hadn't heard of this before, except on these boards. What is the point of doing this--to try out passages that might be used on later forms, or to assess difficulty for setting the scale, or what? Weird!
